There is no fixed time to start potty training your little one. Some children might be ready as early as one year old, while others might be ready only as late as three years old. You have to pay more attention to your child between this period so that you would notice hint in your child of wanting to go to the toilet. The most obvious one is when your child start to remove his pants or diapers by himself, or even request for toilet verbally.
To make potty training more effective, you should consider using diaper training pants for toddlers, which are meant to be easily pull up or down. Your little one will also notice the wetness easily when he is wearing a diaper training pants, unlike a diaper which absorb most of the excretion.
This will make him feel uncomfortable and look for the potty without you asking. The potty chair should be placed near your child to make him more familiar and more willing to use the potty chair. You can decorate the potty chair with your child’s favorite cartoon character, or even, involve him in decorating his own potty chair.
Interact instead of isolating him when he is doing his business. Gradually, train him to go get his potty chair and remove his potty training pants all by himself and don’t forget to praise him when he succeeded.
Diaper training pants are generally recommended as the most suitable training pants for toddlers because they are very comfortable when dry, uncomfortable when wet (which is the main objective), and with the waterproof layer, there is no need to worry about and leakage or accidents.
These training pants can be washed and reused for an extended period. In a long run, it can save you a lot of money from buying expensive disposable diaper. Gerber, Potty Patty, and Imse Vimse are among the most popular choice among parents.
Gerber training pants, as like other brands, are available for both boys and girls. It can be easily removed and pulled up without any adult’s help, since the training pants are made to be flexible. That being said, when the toddler feels the urge, he can reach the potty in time all by himself.
Unlike a diaper, Gerber cotton training pants are made to ensure the toddler feels the wetness, using the uncomfortableness to raise the toddler’s awareness of excretion. The toddler will only feel uncomfortable when the pants is wet, otherwise they will remain very comfortable with its cotton cover.
When a toddler had just started potty training, accidents are inevitable. But worry not, Gerber training pants are designed to contain any leakage or drips. Potty training is less stressful for you and your child this way.

These covers are GREAT. They wash well inside out and they last well. We first used them over my daughters diaper at night to stop night leaks of her diaper. They work Great for stopping leaks. Now we are potty training with them over a pair of Gerber panties. They work great too over a pair of thick training panties to stop leaks. She is a skinny 2 and a half year old and wears size 24 months. The elastic is a bit tight for her to pull up and down. She needs help getting them on and off, but they work.
These training pants are great for potty training. We still have a problem with pooping in the pants, but it definately is more effective than using just diapers or pull ups.
My son is just getting ready to potty train. Everytime I turn around he was taking his diaper off and making a mess all over the house. I thought I would try some “big boy underpants”. These work great! They hold a lot of liquid and I have not had any problems with them leaking. My only complaint is that they are a little tall. I use them every day! Love them!
